What do you mean change?

Well, I've been asked by a couple people, "Where did the name of your blog come from?".  To be honest, I also design quilts and I was using the name of my shop for the patterns that I had designed.  It got me thinking that I really wanted a more appropriate name for my patterns.  Something that sounded "old".  So for quite some time I had been taking notes and trying them out in my head.  So I narrowed it down to a few.  Then, what it really came down to was if I could secure a blog and a domain name.  So, "Washboard Quilts" is what they shall be called.

I have a good friend who's daughter is a graphic artist and she has done my pattern covers for quite sometime.  She has designed a new logo for me and as soon as she does some tweaking, I will unveil it.  I'm very excited!

I will be vending at EXPO in Madison in September and all my patterns will have a facelift by then.  I'm hoping to complete 5 new patterns by then also.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Here I am, My first Post!

Okay, so I'm taking the plunge!  This has been in the works for about a year.  I've always read a lot of blogs, but have been interested in doing my own blog for quite some time.  What convinced me?  Well, a few things.  I run and own a quilt shop.  It's very difficult at times to get out any weekly or monthly newletters, so I feel as though I can do more up to date things on a blog much easier.  Also, having a grandchild was one thing, and the other was loosing both my parents and my mother-in-law within the last 8 months.  I feel as though I would like to leave my family with a little bit of history and I think this is easier than writing it in a journal.

So, to start, I have 2 dd's, 1 ds, and I can't forget the dh.  He's my backbone on certain days.  I also have a grand daughter, who will be a year old next week.

This is Delaney at 6 months and also at 11 months.

I guess you could say "she can do no wrong!  Well at least at g-pa and g-ma's house.

Well, these are our furry children.  I know, I think they are more spoiled than my kids were.  Niko is the smaller, he's a Bernese Mt Dog and is 1 1/2 yrs old now (although he was only 8 months old her and much smaller)  The other is Gracie, she's a St Bernard and is 6 1/2 years old.  We love them both and in fact they are both indoor dogs.  At night Gracie sleeps on our bed with us, but during these hot months, she will sleep on the floor most of the time.  Niko is in a pen at night and he likes it that way.  The other furry friends are our 3 barn cats that are very much domesticated.  In fact, they spent the entire last winter in the house.  Pictures will come later.

Talk later and TGIF!  PJR
